The Greatest Benefit of Blood Donation is the Reward of Nature

Rector of BCS Administrative Academy
Acting Secretary of People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Rector of BCS Administrative Academy
The 125th
felicitation program for lifetime voluntary blood donors was organized
by Quantum Foundation on May 29 2016, where the honorable chief guest
was the Acting Secretary of People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Rector
of BCS Administrative Academy- Muhammad Abdullah.
In his speech in the program, the chief guest said, ‘I have a spiritual bond with Quantum Foundation in terms of family relation. One thing about Quantum, that really touches my heart, is the fact that it works for the overall welfare of the society, regardless of religion, cast or creed.
I feel really fortunate today to be present in this program. As we all know, all the programs of Quantum are well-acclaimed by everyone, starting from the renowned personalities to the ordinary citizens. It was Quantum Foundation that changed thousands of lives, giving people the inspiration to live and has also developed many families.
I was the divisional commissioner of Chittagong for last three years, when I got to learn a lot about Quantum Foundation. I was really fascinated by the parade and display of the students of Quantum Cosmo School in Lama, Bandarban on the Independence Day. I even got the privilege to hand them the winning award for the last three years.
And another outstanding work of Quantum Foundation is the Voluntary Blood Donation Program. Actually, only the people who went through the critical situation requiring blood for various reason can understand the importance of blood donation, very well. That day came in my life as well. It was March 2014- I had to stay in Chittagong as the honorable president went there.
And my father had to be operated on the same day for brain hemorrhage. That day, Abdul Jalil Mandal, the Police commissioner of Chittagong was with me, in such crucial time. He was able to manage blood on an emergency basis, from Quantum Lab. Therefore, today, I’d like to express my utmost gratitude to all the blood donors. I was able to collect pure and fresh blood from Quantum Foundation only because of your regular donation of you people.
The population of Bangladesh is around 160 million, and yet we are unable to fulfill the annual requirement of blood. And, hence, there’s no other way than inspiring and motivating others for blood donation, in order to accomplish the demand. That certainly is a great responsibility, taken by Quantum Foundation. It, certainly, is a well accomplished medium, serving the society through the humane task of blood donation.
I remember the verse in a new manner through you people, that “Manush Manusher jonno, Jibon jiboner jonno(Only a human can save another human’s life- a life for another life)”. You remind me how true those words are!
The most crucial benefit of blood donation is Nature’s Rewards. It’s not just about the mental satisfaction that you get when you donate blood to save someone’s life; but it can also purify your blood, save you from a lot of diseases and also helps you retain your youth and activeness. Therefore, whoever is capable should donate blood regularly.
