The Will to Donate Blood Voluntarily is a Big Deal

Famous
poet and litterateur of Bangladesh, Asad Chowdhury, is also renowned
for his stupendous anchoring on television and recitation skills. Even
though his career started as a poet, he was a journalist by profession.
The famous poet and litterateur of Bangladesh, Asad Choudhury, was the chief guest in the 127th
felicitation program for lifetime voluntary blood donors, taking place
on August 21, 2016. He is well known for his amazing anchoring on
television and recitation skills. He has worked on various aspects of
literature; he has written many children’s book, folk verses,
autobiographies etc, other than poems. He has also done few
translations, alongside.
Even though his career took off as a poet, he was a journalist by profession. One of his famous books include, Bangladesh er Muktijuddho (liberation war of Bangladesh). He received a Bangla Academy Award in 1987 and also earned an Ekushey Padak in 2013.
In his speech in the program, he said, ‘This very moment today is very sacred for me. Where this dissatisfied void feeling is killing the core of our society, there the desire to contribute and donate blood for others' life is really a big deal.
Everyone of you, who are donating their blood only for the sake of serving humanity, without any self-interest or greed, but with the sole intention to help and save others- I’d like to greet and congratulate you, from the core of my heart.
Making the 19th birthday a very special, blessed and memorable one by donating blood for others- is an exceptional step of Quantum Foundation, which I liked a lot.
I don’t know if Quantum Foundation received any Ekushey Padak or Independence Day Award, but the kind of self-sacrificing work that it’s doing for the country- it should get these awards. Quantum Foundation has made all of the us and the nation, proud through its works also presenting an ideal example for the youth of this generation. These kind of example are quite rare for us.
I do trust our young generation. I believe when you’d be running the country, when you’d take hold of the nation, you’d be able to reach the high positions within few years. And I also believe, that since you people have come for donating your blood voluntarily, without any selfish motive, you would never want anyone to die of starving or lack of proper medical treatment. You can never want bad for the nation!
Neither would you want anyone of different religion, cast or creed to be treated as second class citizen nor accept any kind of discrimination or racism. Everyone has the right to live with full respect and honor as they were born in this independent country. This was the reason that 3 million people gave their lives- for an independent country, where everyone could live with complete freedom and honor.
