Humanitarian acts like blood donation ignite hope among us- Kabir Bin Anwar, Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources
Honorable secretary of Ministry of Water Resources of Government of Bangladesh Kabir Bin Anwar was present as the chief guest in the 149th Hundred Lifelong Blood Donors Felicitation Program
organized by Quantum Foundation on October 20, 2019. It took place in
Quantum Meditation Hall, kakrail, Dhaka. Ninety donors, who have
voluntarily donated blood at least three times, were awarded honorarium
certificate, ID card and crest in the ceremony.
The chief guest said, “Our nation had always cherished a serving mentality and still does. We can be proud as a nation. In today’s world, when someone dies in the West, it is often difficult to find even one person to cry over the deceased. In some cases, people are available on rent who would come and cry in the funeral ceremony. Often children find out about their parent’s death after a long time passes by. The familial bond has weakened in the West. Children have to make an appointment to meet their parents there. Parents are not available without prior notice. They remain so busy that they have lost social bond, closeness and loving relationship. They are trying hard to bring it back though. They are spending billions in quest of resurfacing social connectivity. On the contrary, such bonding is very prominent among us by default. Our voluntary blood donors bear testimony to this. Especially when I see humanitarian acts like blood donation by Quantum, it ignites hope among us. I welcome their efforts.”
Coordinator of Quantum Voluntary Blood Donation Program Masuda Akhter Abedin gave away the introductory speech at the ceremony. Director of Quantum Foundation Mrs. Suraiya Rahman presided over the event. Thanking the blood donors and guests she said, “Donors donate blood from a serving mentality. Only God can reward you amply for such contribution.”
